  1. a brand new, baby blog! it's so fresh, so clean!

today i relearned that i love working with high schoolers! i also relearned that high schoolers' behavior and interactions can be a huge puzzlement to me.

i learned that i am supposed to be able to save files on the ppsd h drive but cannot access my personal folder to do so. will have to talk to the tech guy about what to do next.

i learned (again) that just because a class has heard the material 3 or 5 or 7 times, it might be the very next time they hear it that makes the big connection.

thanks for asking. everyone should have a reflection time. i know that i do not usually consciously reflect on my day's learning. i almost always learn from my lessons of the day, but i don't always appreciate them.

  2. Well done. The bogs was created for the initial purpose of satisfying the "bells and whistles" category of our last 5575 lesson. This is where students were to comment on the day's lesson. Quite frankly, I was distracted long enough myself to believe we did a good job. Since this is perhaps a future site of technology learning for students in my care, I have decided to use proper grammar, punctuation, and capitalization (to the best of my ability) throughout, with the sole exception(s) being the bogs and, of course, porkyshin. I had hoped to change porkyshin to something a little more authoritative, more teacherly, but my skill level is such at this point that changing it here, @ the bogs, changes it there, at the slog, as well. And that, simply, is not exceptable.

The lesson here is clear. Keep learning; and keep having fun as I do.

  3. Exceptable!? Is that even a word? And you want to be what? A teacher?

Once again, stuck in the muck that is the bogs.
